Party-girl Lindsay Lohan has finally landed a new acting gig – but it comes with some ground rules: to keep the role she has to fatten up.

The starlet's weight dropped dramatically after her tumultuous break-up with DJ gal pal Samantha Ronson and recent photos have revealed protruding ribs and skeletal arms.

The producers of Lohan's new film "The Other Side" are hoping a contract that demands regular weigh-ins will help Lohan, 22, stay healthy on set, reports.

"Producers want Lindsay looking like a normal, healthy girl, not a skeleton. So they ordered her to rest up and eat more. They refuse to risk her dropping out of the movie because of her problems," a source told the magazine.

The filmmakers also appear to be trying to avoid the sort of high-maintenance behavior that nearly wrecked filming of the star's 2007 movie with Jane Fonda "Georgia Rule."

In addition to trips to the scale, Lohan has agreed to follow a nightly curfew and undergo random drug and alcohol testing, reports celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

"The Other Side," which also stars Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morisette, is slated to start filming in October.

The indie flick could be Lohan's break back into the business after a string of cinematic flops, including the 2007 horror flick "I Know Who Killed Me" and the straight-to-cable movie "Labor Pains."
